“Extreme” Water Shortage Order Extended
The Southwest Florida Water Management District has extended its “Extreme” Water Shortage Order for Pinellas County and surrounding areas through March 31, 2027. Despite summer storms, the region’s average 12-month rainfall remains 15.4 inches below normal, and local water levels remain very low. Pinellas County Utilities customers should check their watering days and reduced watering hours, which are now limited to 12:01–4 a.m. or 8–11:59 p.m. Violations can result in a $193 fine.
