NEW Flood Risk Forecasting Map

Pinellas County has launched a new Tropical Storm Flooding Risk Map to show residents their flood risk from tropical storms and hurricanes. The map can be accessed via desktop or mobile applications at https://storm.pinellascounty.org/.

Local Athletes Heat to Tokyo Olympics

Florida Olympians rule. Going to the Tokyo Olympics are four Sarasota local athletes: skateboarder Jake Ilardi, swimmer Emma Weyant, rifle shooter Mary Tucker and rower Clark Dean.  Also competing, will be former University of Florida Gator swimmer Caeleb Dressel. Dressel is among the top American athletes and could compete in up to seven events. What to do with leftover sandbags?

Pinellas County encourages residents to keep their sandbags as the Atlantic Hurricane season goes through November 30, 2021. Sandbags that did not come into contact with floodwaters can be safely reused or stored. After Hurricane Season, you can spread dry sand on lawns or landscape beds and recycle the bag or place it in your garbage or keep and store clean sandbags for future events. Barrier Island Emergency Access Permit

Were you prepared? Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office limited barrier island access during Tropical Storm Elsa. Access was only permitted only for island residents, employees working on the islands and visitors staying at hotels or vacation rentals on the islands. Zoey’s Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop

National Ice Cream Day is coming up on Sunday, July 18, and to commemorate this exciting, fun-filled delicious day, local Author Ilene Lieber and star Zoey of “Zoey’s Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop” children’s book will hit the Tampa Bay area with special meet-and-greets, book readings and discounted books all week leading up to the delectable holiday, which the book is about. Upon payment of $25 at South Pasadena City Hall, residents may immediately take a voucher to the St. Pete Beach Public Library to get their library card (or renew an existing card). While residents may only take their voucher to the St. Pete Beach Library, library cards may then be used at any library in the Pinellas County Library Cooperative.
