Included with admission to Chihuly Collection, 720 Central Ave., St. Pete. Presented annually, this featured artist exhibition at the Chihuly Collection highlights the work of artists who create and teach at the Morean Glass Studio. Matthew teaches summer camp, intermediate glassblowing, and flameworking workshops. Kimberly Fahey serves as an introductory glassblowing instructor and assistant demonstration artist. Kailey Carleton is a beginning glassblowing instructor and demonstration artist.
Through 1/3/27 – New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations
Included with admission to Museum of Fine Arts, 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Pete. Masquerade has long stood as the iconic African performance genre, and yet the artists who create masquerades are often unacknowledged and under-represented. This exhibit showcases the artworks and voices of individual creators and offers a fresh take on the vitality of masquerade arts. The exhibition challenges both the widely held ideas of the “anonymous African artist” and assumptions that masquerade is an unchanging, static art form solely rooted in the distant past. New African Masquerades shares the stories of four masquerade artists: Chief Ekpenyong Bassey Nsa (Nigeria), David Sanou (Burkina Faso), Sheku “Goldenfinger” Fofanah (Sierra Leone), and Hervé Youmbi (Cameroon).

10/10-12/31 – Shapeshifter: New and Select Works by Palehorse
Free, Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Pete. In a retrospective spanning two decades, Palehorse (St. Pete-based artist Chris Parks) presents his creative journey through rock poster art, skateboard graphics, wrestling lore and apparel design, reimagined in new ways. In tandem with Shapeshifter, Practice Dying: A Skull & Bones Exhibit will be on display 10/10-30. This collective showcase of local and national artists explores the skull and skeleton, not just as a metaphor for our impermanence, but as a symbol of how we live, connect and transcend. The exhibition centers on the art of letting go, exploring what it means to be truly human and celebrating our shared creative experience.
10/11-18 – Hoods Up Week
$10-16, 3301 Gateway Centre Blvd., Pinellas Park. Visitors will get a rare look beneath the hoods of vehicles throughout the museum. See everything from compact two-cylinder engines to powerful 12-cylinder designs, along with vehicles featuring some very different approaches to propulsion and mechanical design. Look for front- and rear-mounted engines, air-cooled engines, rotary engines, sleeve-valve engines and early electric vehicles. The collection even includes hydrogen-powered technology. 10/13 – Hear Me Out: Bring Your Own Vinyl Night
Free, 7:30pm, Suite E Studios, 621 27th St. S, St Pete. Hear Me Out is a monthly event every second Tuesday for record collectors, vinyl enthusiasts, and curious ears. On these nights the studio transforms into an intimate and inviting vinyl listening lounge. Guests can bring records from their collections to be played over the studio’s sound system. All levels of vinyl lovers or listeners are welcome to participate and eclectic sounds are encouraged. Signup sheet is first come, first serve and will begin at 7:30pm.
10/15 – Tampa Theater Centennial Celebration
$26 reserved seating, 6pm, 711 N Franklin St., Tampa. On Oct. 15, 1926, Tampa Theatre opened its doors for the very first time. One hundred years to the day later, the theatre is throwing a birthday party — presented by Urban E Recycling — to thank the community that rescued the building 50 years ago and has supported it ever since. The party starts on the sidewalk at 6pm with live music and swing dancing. The program begins 7pm with comments from theatre officers and Tampa’s mayor. Then, the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra and Tampa Theatre’s own Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ will present the 1924 silent comedy Sherlock Jr., starring Buster Keaton. The evening’s finale — Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture — was also part of the opening night performance in 1926 and will feature some spectacular special effects made possible by 2026 technology.

This regional community listening and oral history event sponsored by Gulfport Arts & Heritage creates a space in which to share and preserve community members’ experiences connected with racial exclusion, intimidation, displacement, and related historical experiences. These interviews will become part of the community’s historical record through the Gulfport History Museum’s archives. 11/12-15 –Booker Creek Art Festival
Free admission, bordered by MLK Street to 16th Street between First Avenues North and South. The inaugural Booker Creek Arts Festival will transform the historic EDGE District into a four-day immersive arts experience celebrating creativity, culture, and community. This walkable living gallery will feature juried works by hundreds of Florida artists displayed throughout participating venues. Artists will compete for up to $50,000 in jury-awarded prizes; visitors can vote for the People’s Choice Award. The EDGE District is compact and walkable. It has trolley stops, SunRunner stations, dedicated bike and sharrow lanes, free two-hour parking, private paid parking, valet service and drop-off areas.

The Fourth Annual Oldsmar Rod Run benefiting Oldsmar Cares will feature classic, antique, hot rods, rat rods and late model cars and trucks. The High Octane Dance Classic brings together dancers from across Florida for a full-scale competition on the largest dance floor in the state.
