HAPPY HOGS

It’s the season of the Harley, with riding clubs rolling into American Legions and bars. The fourth annual St. Pete BikeFest, a rumbling, rolling four-day celebration of motorcycles, the coolest motorcycle gear and clothes and 14 bands (Saving Abel & Saliva, LoCash, Night Rangers, Tobacco Road Band, Autograph) convenes Nov. 18-21 at OCC Road House & Museum, the official Orange Country Choppers headquarters, Bert’s Barracuda and Bert’s Black Widow Harley-Davidson. Paul Teutul Sr. of Orange County Choppers fame will rev things up Saturday, Nov. 20, along with a bike show featuring more than 200 cycles presented by Full Throttle magazine. Bert’s Barracuda 5th Annual Christmas TOY RUN is Dec. 5, 9am-noon. You’ll see tricked out hogs and Polaris’ popular Indian model, the new two-wheeled fave.

SANTA CLAWS

It’s stone crab season, and what better way to entertain during the holidays than to start with these delectable delights. Hot or cold, with melted butter or mustard sauce, bring home this Floridian sensation from Mid-Peninsula Seafood, Key West Shrimp Company, Nachmann’s, Fresh Market or Sprouts. Crabby Bill’s Seafood, Palm Pavillion, Frenchy’s, Billy’s Stone Crab, Salt Rock Grill and Snapper’s Sea Grill serve ‘em up with style.

FLYING HIGH

The annual Treasure Island Kite Festival in January is breathtaking, but every day is a good day to go fly a kite. Since 1999, locals and visitors flock to Windworks in John’s Pass for things that fly, twirl, wave and interact with the wind, including kites, yard spinners, wind socks and wind chimes. For a bigger thrill, ride the wind on a kiteboard with Elite Watersports. From beginner lessons to family memory-making experiences, this is a fantastic holiday gift.
