#2 Hippie Dash for Peace, Love & Goodwill
Head to downtown Safety Harbor’s City Marina this Saturday, May 13th to run for Peace, Love & Goodwill in the Hippie Dash. Goodwill’s Hippie Dash is a run/walk event! Events include a 10k, 5k, 1-mile Walk, Woof & Roll (dogs & strollers), a Flower Child Fun Run for the little hippies, and the Keep on Truckin’ Challenge (10k AND the 5k) to claim even better bling and bragging rights, man! #4 Swing Time Disco Party
Swing Time’s Disco Party returns to the Gulfport Casino this Friday, May 12th! Dance 8pm to midnight to those funky disco grooves and beats. Arrive early for a Dance Lesson 7-8pm, where you can learn the Hustle and other Disco-era dances. Get ready for the Soul Train! $10 includes everything. The Disco Party happens the 2nd Friday of every month.
#5 Tom Jones exhibit opens at MFA St. Pete
Tom Jones: Here We Stand opens at the Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg this Saturday, May 13th! For over twenty years Tom Jones, or to use his Ho-Chunk name ChakShepSkaKah (White Eagle), has created a visual record and exploration of his tribe’s members and culture. The exhibit kicks off with a discussion with artist Tom Jones and MFA Senior Curator of Photography Dr. Jane Aspinwall on Saturday, May 13 11am. On view through August 27th.
