#2 The Scarlet Letter
This weekend American Stage opens its newest production- a bold reimagining of The Scarlet Letter, exploring “original sin,” shame, and rebellion in early America. Hester Prynne defies a rigid society as she fights to live freely and raise her daughter in the Massachusetts Bay colony. As secrets unravel between Hester, her guilt-ridden lover, and her vengeful husband, the story asks: which sins are truly unforgivable? This powerful production reveals how violence, superstition, and hard truths shaped the nation we know today. Shows are Wednesday to Sunday thru February 15.
