Madeira Beach Burger Week Wraps Up
If you haven’t made your way through Madeira Beach Burger Week yet, this weekend, August 28–30, is your last chance to try the 18 creative burger creations being served up around town. Each featured burger is just $10 with the official passport, and if you’ve tried at least four, you can vote for your favorites and enter the prize drawing. It’s a tasty excuse to explore a few local restaurants before Burger Week wraps up Sunday.
Great Cupcake Contest
Got a sweet tooth? The Great St. Pete Cupcake Contest returns to the Morean Center for Clay on Saturday, August 29, from 12–3pm, featuring some of St. Pete’s most artistic cupcakes. Local bakers compete in Youth/Teen, Novice, Professional and Specialty categories, while attendees pick a dozen mini-cupcake creations to take home and vote for their favorite for the People’s Choice award. Boxes are $25, members $20. Advance reservations are recommended, as the event typically sells out.
Harry Potter Drone Art Show
For something a little magical this weekend, head to Tampa on Friday and Saturday, August 28–29th, at 8:30pm for a Harry Potter-themed drone art show under the stars. Some 1,200 drones will light up the sky with scenes inspired by the films, accompanied by their iconic music and a live electric violinist. Tickets are $62.90, with kids ages 3–12 $42.90.
Sip & Stroll on Corey
Unwind at Sip & Stroll, a laid-back evening on Corey Avenue where you can explore local shops, enjoy drinks, and discover something new along the way. Participating businesses offer specials, tastings, and unique experiences that change each month. Held every last Friday from 5–8pm, this free event is a great way to ease into the weekend strolling Corey Ave on St. Pete Beach.
Clear the Shelters 2026
If you’ve been thinking about adding a four-legged—or feathered or scaly—friend to the family, Saturday, August 29, from 9am–5pm is a great time to visit SPCA Tampa Bay for Clear the Shelters. Adoption fees will be waived for all available pets, which may include dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and more. Adoptions are first come, first served, so expect a crowd and give yourself plenty of time to find your new best friend.
