Treasure Island to Host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Dedicate the New City Hall

The time has finally come to open the city of Treasure Island’s new and enhanced City Hall. The city is excited to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 2 at 6 p.m. at City Hall’s new location, 10451 Gulf Blvd. Current and former city officials will be in attendance to celebrate this joyous occasion.

The newly renovated, 28,347-square-foot building cost $11 million which included the cost to acquire the property and renovations to the existing building. City Hall will house the City Commission Chambers, City Hall departments, Public Works Administration, and rentable recreation spaces for the community. The facility will serve as a central hub of the city, providing public space that is accessible, functional, and a source of pride for residents.

“This opening has been a long time coming and I know the public is eager to see the final product,” Treasure Island Mayor Tyler Payne said. “This will be a great step forward for our community by adding beautiful spaces for our community groups to use, enhanced technology for better public engagement, easier access to city staff, and more parking in our busiest beach/event parking area.”

The main floor of the new City Hall will consist of the City Commission Chambers with a beautiful view of the beach, a lobby, and the Community Development Department. There will also be enhanced security features requiring electronic access to other floors.

The third floor will be the main staff working floor, with a primarily open floor plan, designed to keep staff located in close proximity for efficiency and collaboration.

The fifth floor will be dedicated to serving the community, with multiple-sized rooms available for classes, meetings, and community activities. This floor also features a premiere event space with a catering kitchen, making it an attractive venue for a variety of functions. This floor will also house the city’s Parks and Recreation offices.

The fourth floor will provide some storage space for the Treasure Island Historical Society but will remain vacant until plans are made as to what should be housed on this floor.
