The City of Madeira Beach invites residents and visitors to gather at Patriot Park on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. for the 25TH annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony as the community comes together to honor those lost, recognize first responders, and reflect on the enduring spirit of unity and resilience.
Held at the City’s 9/11 Memorial, the ceremony honors the 2,977 lives lost during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, recognizes the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and provides an opportunity for the community to come together in reflection and remembrance.
“This ceremony is about remembering those we lost, honoring the heroes who responded, and coming together as a community to ensure we never forget,” said Fire Chief Clint Belk.
The ceremony will include remarks from city leaders, the presentation of a commemorative wreath, the tolling of bells, and a display of 2,977 American flags, each representing a life lost on that tragic day.
Madeira Beach has held a 9/11 remembrance ceremony each year since the dedication of its memorial in 2014. The memorial features an 800-pound steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center and stands as a lasting symbol of resilience, unity, and service.
