If you head out to listen to Guiness, you’re likely to encounter Pat Packer!

Pat Packer (88) long time owner of the Harp and Thistle Pub in St. Pete Beach told Paradise NEWS “I’ve likely already fielded 100 calls asking where to hear some authentic Irish music this week. My favorite Irish band for 20 years, Guinness, is playing at Finley’s at Belcher & Ulmerton at 8 PM on Thursday and Friday March 14th & 15th and Sunday, March 17th Noon to 7 PM.” I’ll be there wearing my best green outfits and my favorite hats.”

Jim and Laura Farrell are the husband and wife team musically known as Guinness. They have been entertaining audiences throughout North America and Ireland since 1981. Their repertoire consists mainly of traditional and contemporary Irish, Scottish and Maritime music played on a variety of instruments including guitar, 5-string banjo, fiddle, mandolin and tin whistle, as well as two strong vocals.

Based in Prince Edward Island, Canada, their musical travels have taken them all over North America. From Newfoundland to Ontario in Canada and in New York State, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Florida in the United States. They have also had the pleasure of traveling and performing in Ireland. The duo’s venues include concert halls, pubs, educational venues and festivals and their ability to adapt to any type of atmosphere makes for an enjoyable experience for all audiences.

Joining them for many performances is their youngest son, Paddy. Playing the bodhran, sharing vocals and occasionally breaking into an Irish step dance, he is a welcome addition to the group.

On Saturday, March 16th, from 7– 9:30 PM Sacred Lands at 1620 Park St. in St. Petersburg presents dinner with Guinness. Shelley Eckert hires the musicians for the once a month dinner and music event in the Greenhouse at Sacred Lands. She said she felt amazingly happy that this authentic Irish band was available for Saturday night before St. Patrick’s Day. Doris said she is offering shepherd’s pie and corned beef with cabbage and potatoes in honor of the season.

Come join us for dinner (only $8 if you wish) and the closest to the beach authentic Irish music event. Admission is $15 (+8 if you eat). Call Sacred Lands for 727-347-0354 for details & reservations.
