Horticulture Programs at Sunken Gardens April 2018

April 7, 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. “Cameras and Kids” Learn 10 photograph tips to make better photographs using Sunken Gardens’ birds, butterflies, turtles, flowers, and more as your subjects. Beth Reynolds, Director of Photography at the Morean Arts Center guides kids to see the world in a new way and discover how to make better photographs with a camera or smart phone. Pre-registration required due to limited space. $9/child includes Garden Admission. Members: $5/child. Adult chaperones free of charge. Ages 5+.  Children must be accompanied by an adult and bring their own camera.

April 14, 10:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. :  Spring Succulent Wreath Workshop
O’Berry’s Succulents owner, Jamie O’Berry, guides you through creating a spring succulent wreath to make others green with envy.  Small group setting and plant care instructions complete your Pinterest-worthy experience. Pre-registration required: $60/non-member, $50/member covers succulents, materials, and gardens admission. Which of our endangered turtles has a “worm” in his mouth to lure fish? Why do some of our youngest flamingos have gray feathers? Solve these mysteries and more while celebrating Earth Day weekend exploring our winding paths, exotic birds, turtles, butterflies, and flowers on a scavenger hunt through our century-old garden. For ages 3 to 103! No pre-registration required. Free with paid admission or membership.
