The 13th annual Pink Flamingo Home Tour, Saturday, March 3, 2018, 11 am to 5 pm, features homes in the Stetson neighborhood in northwest Gulfport.
The tour begins at the registration area at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 5800 15th Ave. S., Gulfport.
Walking and biking are encouraged on this level 2.25 mile route. For others, the trolley and van will be circling non-stop 11 am – 5 pm. Driving between homes is discouraged as parking will be difficult near many of the homes. Homes range from 720 square feet in back of another home, to a large historic Spanish style home on 3 lots. See a document signed by Mae West, visit a home where Babe Ruth resided, and get a guided tour of Stetson College. Plenty of water features and ”outdoor entertaining spaces” along the way.
Walking or biking the 2.25-mile level route, is encouraged. For those who prefer, or require transportation, a free trolley and van will be circling nonstop during the tour.
Driving is discouraged because parking will be very limited near the homes. Visitors can go at their own pace, and there will be plenty of time to take a lunch break or shop in Gulfport.
Tickets are on sale for $20 at the Beach Bazaar, 3115 Beach Blvd., the Gulfport Welcome Center, 3101 Beach Blvd., online at pinkflamingohometour.com/buy-tickets. or at registration, day of tour for $25. The tour is a fundraiser for the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce, with most funds used for the operations of the Gulfport Welcome Center.
