Gulfport – It’s A Magical Place

Filled with beautiful art, gorgeous beaches, amazing restaurants. Plug it into your Map app.

Gulfport – If you haven’t been lately, or ever, this place has changed and is still one of the most beautiful towns around.  You’ll find art inspired by its beauty throughout.

Year around goodness:

There are many seasonal aspects to our community, but Gulfport is an example of a town that has something to offer year around.  Every Tuesday there is a Tuesday Fresh Market that takes place in the “downtown” area of Gulfport lining the sidewalks on Beach Boulevard from the Casino to the Courtyard.  From 9am – 3pm during season, and 9am – 2pm summer, this is the only year round market in the area.

They offer fresh produce along with other yummy bites, local honey, kettle korn, homemade sauces etc. Along with the fabulous foods, you’ll find art and crafts made by local artists, plants, orchids, and more.  This is certainly something you should add to your list of things to do Gulfport Fresh Market – 3101 Beach Blvd. Gulfport FL 33707

Gulfport has been holding a First Friday and Second Saturday Artwalk for years.  It’s the same location as the Tuesday Market, but you’ll find different offerings with additional jewelry, arts and crafts.

Live music up and down, added to the fabulous selection of restaurants like Pia’s and O’Maddys, there is much to see and do, and buy while you are there. In the last year, the Gulfport Merchants Chamber started offering an artist grant program, helping local artists gain a launching pad to share their art with the community.

The Gulfport Casino is home to many fantastic events, from live music with the Original Impacs, Salsa Dancing lessons, yoga, and more. Check the website for the schedule- https://mygulfport.us/recreation/casino/

 New Business

Caddys is opening their 5th location across from the Gulfport Casino, Caddy’s will no doubt bring more great food and live music to Gulfport.  Opening the first week of March, Caddy’s has live music planned nightly, and has already sponsored the little league team in Gulfport.

They are proven to be a successful locally owned business with multiple locations in Tampa Bay.  A welcome addition to the community!  3128 Beach Boulevard, Gulfport, FL 33707

A breakfast/lunch staple in Gulfport, Stella’s, is moving.  Right up the road, so don’t fret.  You will still find the addictive biscuits with gravy and amazing turkey sandwiches offered by Stella’s.  They have not yet moved, and they’ve started to offer a new happy hour from 2pm-4pm.  Loaded Chicken Tenders for $10 and $1 off  “Happy Drinks.”  That makes me happy just thinking about it.

Tidbits

Dunkin Donuts is under development right on Gulfport Blvd, which has the locals stirring.  I will take coffee however I can, but I too like to dine and shop local.

A quick coffee is ok too. The Big Blue Building- Across from “The Courtyard” on Beach Boulevard, you’ll find a brand new multilevel development that has a few new businesses opening on the first floor and office/condo space above.  I noticed a home décor sign along with an ice cream shop.  Not yet open but coming soon.

“The Ladies of the Boulevard” are having  “Mad Hatters Shop Hop” March 23rd, 10 am-5 pm.  Participating businesses include: Fabric Smart, Sweet-Tea Celebrations  The Boulevard Shoppe & Garden, The Nest, and Thai Orchids & Leis.  Wear your “Fun Hat” & get a 10% discount at all participating stores.

Stop in each shop with your passport filled out (received from any of the participating shops) and you will be entered to win a sweet prize!  Not to mention you will be able to shop small and support locally owned businesses in Gulfport, Florida.  Each business is woman owned as well!
