SIP & SUP 3 Daughters Brewery rolls out their decadent Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter just in time for a boozy Thanksgiving kick. Check out their events: 11/3 (first Thursday/monthly) is Boots and Brews country line dancing. Do good at the 11/12 Beer Brat event with the Northeast Exchange Club for an afternoon of live music, auctions, and brews to benefit Honor Flight of West Central Florida and The Children’s Dream Fund.

Saturday’s Mezzo Market is back on Baum Ave. at Intermezzo with 60 vendors 11/19 and 12/10 11am-4pm, a perfect aperitif to the Saturday Morning Market at Williams Park or a visit to Vintage Marche 11/4-11/6 and 12/4-6.  Brick Street Farms now offers home delivery service to 33712, 33713, 33701, 33704, 33705, but you can always order online or visit their market at 199 20th St. S for gorgeous greens and other gourmet delights: closed Mon.-Tues.  A Cuban-inspired new rooftop bar will top off the AC Hotel by Marriott, Cane & Barrel. Friday night dancing at Dirty Laundry on the back patio with live music is almost as delightful as their weekend brunch.

FUN The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will fire up the engines March 3-6, 2023. Sunken Gardens has developed a History Center in the original 1940 entrance and gift shop, a building that until recently held the Garden’s tropical birds at night. The birds now have new nighttime accommodations, and the building has been restored and reopened 10/22. The new History Center will showcase Sunken Gardens’ history and its important role in developing Florida’s tourism industry during the era of Old Florida roadside attractions. 

Never-before seen photos, documents, and footage of the Gardens during its heyday of 250,000 visitors a year will be showcased within a media wall and exhibit panels.

ST. PETE NEWS Writing guru and Poynter instructor Roy Peter Clark’s much anticipated new book debuts this spring, Tell It Like It Is. Welcome Erica Riggins as Mayor Ken Welch’s new communications lead. On Thursday, Oct. 20, a series of housing projects were approved by the St. Petersburg City Council. The projects will utilize President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and add a total of 483 new affordable units to St. Pete. The units will be spread throughout the entire city and are 100% affordable under 80% AMI. Two of these projects will target special populations such as people with disabilities and homeless individuals – and two projects will be for seniors. stpete.org/ARPA
