DOWNTOWN GUIDE

By Amelia Wilson Rose

Since its grand opening last fall, Concrete Jungle remains one of the hottest places downtown. The Tulum-inspired restaurant and bar is known for its Latin fusion, innovative cocktails, and all the vibrance of a tropical soirée. Drop by 475 Central Ave. and enjoy a boozy brunch, an elevated lunch date, or even a night out complete with fire-dancers. www.concretejunglestpete.com.

A few blocks over, crowds gather at Cane and Barrel, the rooftop bar overhanging the AC Hotel. With stunning views, classic Cuban food, and live music every weekend, Cane and Barrel lives up to the hype and exceeds expectations. Check out the house-made sangria after work, or stay for a boozy, lively brunch on the weekend. More information is available at www.caneandbarrelstpete.com.

If you’re in search of a more sophisticated experience, Fortu at 95 Central Ave. is not to be overlooked. The Pan-Asian menu ranges from small bites to larger delicacies, including a cocktail menu that is notably one of the best in town. Fortu’s intimate indoor dining and bustling patio have remained packed for a reason – it’s just that good. www.forturestaurants.com
