Scan the QR Code with your smart phone to learn more about The Centre of St. Pete Beach, a medicinal marijuana-centric health, education, meeting and event facility in the literal center of St. Pete Beach.

Last year, the area’s best Cuban restaurant moved to a corner of The Centre from Tampa Armature Works to open Kuba En La Playa with a walk-up window open to Blind Pass Road and a door inside the Centre.

Now, we have established The Centre Coffee Exchange, open initially 7am-2pm seven days a week, serving:

  • Specialty Coffees
  • Organic Teas
  • Kombucha
  • Single Origin, Direct Trade Chocolate
  • 100% Real Fruit Smoothies
  • Beer and Wine
  • Treats and more

Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world. I grew up with the smell of coffee in our kitchen all day and I grew to love drinking the beverage hot or cold, sometimes with a shot of brandy or espresso.

We have mostly been drinking coffee since ancient times due to its stimulant effect and unique taste. However, its consumption has historically been associated with a lower risk of some diseases such as:

  • type 2 diabetes mellitus & obesity
  • cardiovascular disease and
  • some type of cancers
  • chronic liver disease
  • non-melanoma skin cancer in Caucasian women
  • a lower risk of Parkinson’s disease

So, it has also been consumed for its health benefits. It contains many bioactive compounds such as caffeine, chlorogenic acids and diterpenoid alcohols, which have so far been associated with many potential health benefits. Caffeine reduces risk of developing neurodegenerative disease and chlorogenic acids (CGA) and diterpene alcohols are antioxidant and chemo-preventive.

A study entitled Associations of Coffee Drinking and Cancer Mortality published in the Journal of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Vol 26 No. 10, October 1, 2017, concluded “These findings are consistent with many other studies that suggest coffee drinking is associated with a lower risk of colorectal, liver, female breast, and head and neck cancer.”

In our Paradise News articles, here on page 7 for the past two years, we have been telling you that we only carry top of the line CBD products. It would stand to reason that we are equally as pretentious about our Coffee Exchange.

We have the very best coffee, and the very best baristas in the area. Don’t take my word for it! Come in and try a cup.

If you are lucky enough to get a postcard with a coupon in your Paradise NEWS, you can even get your first cup for FREE. You might find one at the Sunday Market or the Chamber of Commerce lobbies in the area. For an extra fee, you can get your beverage laced with organic turmeric to lubricate your joints and/ or a dose of CBD. Scan the COFFEE EXCHANGE QR code to learn more. We HOPE to see you soon at the Centre Coffee Exchange!
