Art Around the World

G’dayo! Ni hao! Hola! Manahoana!

Creative Clay’s inclusive summer camp for children 6-12 will teach students about the art, culture and customs of Australia, China, Mexico and Madagascar.

Monday – Friday 9am-3pm.  June 3 – July 26.
Campers will enjoy a teacher/student ratio of 1:6.
Each week culminates in a Friday afternoon for parents and friends in Creative Clay’s Performing Arts Studio.

Children of different abilities share a classroom and the experience of creating art together versus a traditional school setting where students are often separated due to neuro differences. Unique to this camp is the opportunity for each camper to create a camp T-shirt. Campers submit their portrait, and Big Frog Custom T-Shirts uses all images to create a memento for campers. Popular with parents looking for a small, creative setting, Art Around the World provides varied experiences and creates a culture of acceptance.

Cost is $150/week. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. Parents and caregivers also get a summer break from lunch prep thanks to free lunches provided daily by the Pinellas Co. School System. Learn more about scholarships and register at www.creativeclay.org

Parents are grateful for the generosity of community organizations such as Publix that provide scholarships. This year’s camp is also funded in part by The White Family Foundation, The J. Crayton Pruitt Foundation, The Rotary Club of St. Petersburg.

Creative Pinellas established the Catalyst Grant as a resource for parents to offset summer programming costs. Learn more about the Creative Pinellas Catalyst Grant at www.creativepinellas.org

Older students also have opportunities to experience art making & summer camp at Creative Clay. Summer Studio was created to give young artists of all abilities between the ages of 13 to 22 the opportunity to learn, express, and sell their art over the summer.

Led by professional artists, summer studio will serve youth interested in learning about drawing, painting, fiber arts, mixed media and ceramics in an individually-paced studio environment with a focus on employment readiness. Classes meet M-F, 10am-2pm and cost $125 per week. Free lunches provided by the Pinellas County School System. Register here: www.creativeclay.org

Creative Clay’s vision is to make the arts accessible to all. Our mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives through access to the arts by providing expressive, educational and vocational experiences.
