Through 4/25 – I Will… Word + Image 2025-2026
Free, Morean Art Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Pete. Each year, local students are challenged to create works of art based on a particular theme, and to incorporate a written statement within the piece. This year’s theme I WILL… is the students’ “projection” of their future possibilities and imagination of what awaits them, what their potential roles could be in the real world, and how they might prepare to make a difference. The Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay, in partnership with Marcolina Gallery, will present an exhibition featuring the work of Vietnam veteran Ray Lawler, headlined by his monumental 13-foot-6-inch masterpiece, “Where Have all the Flowers Gone.” A visual interpretation of the classic anti-war song, the work spans six fully integrated canvas panels, serving as a timeline of human conflict and the propaganda that fuels it. Free, Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Pete. Opening reception 4/11, 5-8pm. Bunch, a self-taught illustrator from St. Petersburg, transforms 50 state flowers into botanical ballerinas. Her illustrations combine figure drawing with floral theatrics, adding vibrant colors and texture-rich embroidery to stretch the viewer’s eye past the present to see the blossom’s full-seasonal vitality. 4/4 – History in a Bottle – Rum & Prohibition

This beloved community tradition is packed with family-friendly fun and festive activities for all ages. Dive in for one of our most popular attractions: the underwater egg hunt at the Aquatics Center, proudly co-hosted by St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue! 4/4-5 – Third Annual Blue Crabs and R&B Festival
Free admission, 2-8pm, Tropicana Field, Lot 1, St. Pete. The festival will bring the heat with the freshest blue crabs in the bay, soulful R&B, and a $500 Crab Cookoff that’s about to get SPICY. 4/8 – Missing Voices: A Concert Project

French pianist Dimitri Malignan and American soprano Lily Arbisser bring to life the works of Jewish classical composers whose music had been well-known before World War II. Free, Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave. Now in its 10th year, the exhibition nurtures and advances the careers of emerging visual artists while also giving our community the opportunity to discover exciting new art being made in our region. The exhibition has been extended to feature two additional artists in the Chihuly Collection special exhibition space. 5/1 – The Kids Fishing Slam at The King of The Beach

Join a global movement for peace with this unique, community-centered experience inviting participants of all ages to walk a labyrinth crafted from natural materials beneath the shade of live oak trees. 5/7-8 – Transforming the Beautiful Game: The Clyde Best Story

This East Coast premiere of the film documentary “Transforming the Beautiful Game” is a first-hand look at the groundbreaking journey and impact of Clyde Best, the first black football superstar of the modern TV era in England, who went on to become a soccer legend in the North American Soccer League. Best was a key member of the Tampa Bay Rowdies team that captured the 1975 NASL Championship, winning Soccer Bowl ’75 in the club’s inaugural season.
