All event proceeds directly benefit the participating non-profit rescue organizations
(Gulfport, FL) Gulfport’s Get Rescued Animal Rescue Festival & Fun-raiser is returning on Saturday, February 28, 2025, from 10am to 5pm at 3000 Beach Boulevard S in Gulfport, Florida. You won’t want to miss this community event to help our furry friends find their forever homes.
Whether you are looking for a new family member or simply want to support the cause, the festival offers a vibrant atmosphere filled with purpose:
- The Rescue Village: Meet representatives and adoptable pets from up to 50 animal rescue groups, each sharing the stories of animals waiting for a fresh start.
- The Florida Wiener Dog Derby: Experience the high-energy joy of this fan-favorite race, celebrating the spirit and speed of our dachshund friends.
- Pet-Centric Marketplace: Shop from local vendors offering unique crafts, artwork, and treats designed specifically for animal lovers.
- Education & Demos: Learn from the best with professional animal training demonstrations and pet care workshops.
- Fun-raising Raffles: Every ticket purchased goes directly toward helping participating rescues continue their life-saving work.
- Dog Training Club of St Petersburg presents Club Rally: New to this year’s event is a rally completion sport where dogs and handlers navigate a course of instructions. The 20×30 rally course welcomes all spectators to try the course with their dogs and earn ribbons based on performance by just trying it.
Well-behaved “vaccinated” pets are welcome. There is no admission fee to attend and plenty of complimentary parking will be available throughout the area.
“We invite everyone to come out, enjoy the local shops and restaurants of Gulfport. It is a great opportunity to learn about the different animal rescue organizations in our community, meet adoptable pets and perhaps leave with a new best friend,” said Suzanne King, organizer of Get Rescued. For over two decades, Get Rescued has served as one of the largest animal rescue events of its kind in Florida.
Proceeds from the event support participating rescue groups. Last year’s event raised over $5,100 and 27 spaces were donated to local rescue groups to help bring awareness. Participation is free for 501c3 Animal Rescue Groups.
