Madeira Beach Welcomes New Interim City Manager

Robert J. Daniels has assumed the role of interim City Manager of the City of Madeira Beach following the departure of Jonathan Evans. On July 9th the City Commission approved filling the position on an interim basis until they select a permanent City Manager and a contract has been negotiated.

Mr. Daniels was most recently employed as the Town Manager for Melbourne Beach, Florida. His career in public service began in 1978 when he joined the Boca Raton Police Department, serving 28 years and rising to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. Mr. Daniels has continued his law enforcement career with police departments at Florida Atlantic University, Juno Beach, Florida, Buckeye Arizona, and North Bay Village, Florida.

Mr. Daniels earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA), and his Master’s Degree (MPA) in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He has also received accreditation in various law enforcement and public safety disciplines from the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, the University of Virginia, and the Department of Hmomeland Security. Mr. Daniels is a member in good standing of the International City Managers Association (ICMA), and the Florida City County Manager’s Association FCCMA).
