Weekly Tidbits June 19, 2025

In this video, Pinellas County Commission Chair Brian Scott offers guidance on getting through this upcoming hurricane season together in Pinellas County. For resources to help you get ready, visit disaster.pinellas.gov. This page includes information on how to look up your evacuation zone, build an emergency kit, prepare your home & boat, sign up for emergency alerts through Alert Pinellas and more. You can also pick up a copy of the 2025 Pinellas County Hurricane Guide at your local library, community center or city hall.

Skip the Fertilizer June 1st through September 30th

Summer rains can sweep lawn and landscape fertilizer right into our waterways, causing algae blooms and killing marine life. That’s why Pinellas County Ordinance prohibits purchase or use of fertilizers with nitrogen or phosphorous from June through September. Fertilizer with phosphorous can only be used on your landscape any time of year if a soil test confirms it is needed. Do your part to protect our environment. Learn more at https://pinellas.gov/fertilizer-landscape-information/.
