“We had only hoped for the level of support we have received from our community, it’s truly been a dream,” said Jen Iavarone, who, with her husband Derek, run Malio’s Prime Steakhouse, a Tampa institution since 1969. They recently opened Malio’s Beach House at 4945 Gulf Blvd. in St. Pete Beach.
“When we were offered the property, it wasn’t at the best moment. St. Pete Beach had just been hit by two major hurricanes and our barrier islands were in pretty bad shape. We had about 2 feet of water in our own home, causing major damage, but decided our community needed us to open as much as we needed them. We were a bit concerned that the shortage of hotel rooms and seasonal residents might impact our launch, but we have been pleasantly surprised by the outpouring support of our community, by both locals and surprisingly, visitors as well. We still don’t have a functional kitchen at home, but we do have a great new venture we have been dreaming of for years.”

The original Malio’s Steakhouse was opened in 1969 by Malio Iavarone, whose immigrant parents had owned and operated their own restaurant since 1945. Always striving to provide their clientele the finest dining experience, Malio’s Steakhouse has, over 55 years, earned a reputation for serving the finest quality food, with superior service and atmosphere.
Malio and his wife Shirley retired to St. Pete Beach, after having often frequently vacationed there. Derek and Jen followed. “We have been waiting for our opportunity to showcase a new Malio’s concept, same fine dining experience similar to our Tampa location, but with a beach house twist. Same menu, different atmosphere.” Both Malio’s Prime Steakhouse and Malio’s Beach House offer Creekstone all-natural prime beef and pork, the freshest seafood available (featuring cold water lobster tails), accompanied by a selection of over 200 wines, and a premium full-liquor bar along with unparalleled service and ambience. “The quality of our product is our first priority,” says Derek. More than 50 5-star Google reviews testify that Malio’s Beach House is an asset to St. Pete Beach. One sums up a recent visit by local guide, Becky Smith. “Malio’s Beach House offers an upscale dining experience that’s perfect for a special evening out. Please don’t go in your swimsuits! This place is known for its sophisticated ambiance.”

“The moment you step into Malio’s, you’re greeted by an elegant, dimly lit atmosphere. The restaurant exudes a timeless and intimate vibe, making it an ideal setting for a romantic dinner or a celebratory meal. Whether you’re seated in the main dining room or at the bar, the atmosphere is refined without feeling stuffy.”
“The service at Malio’s is exceptional. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our waitress, Nicole, was well-versed in the menu and provided insights into various cuts of steak and side dishes, adding to the overall elevated experience.”

“The star of the show at Malio’s is, of course, the steak. We had the filet mignon and ribeye. Each steak is cooked to perfection, with a smoky, charred exterior and tender, juicy interior, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience with every bite. Lobster mac and cheese brings an indulgent touch to the meal, although there could be more lobster.
“Don’t forget to try the decadent gouda-crab mash potatoes and the fresh-baked bread.” Reserve a table online or call 727-202-6992. www.maliosbeachhouse.com
