DESCRIPTION:Legendary violin superstar Itzhak Perlman will perform with The Florida Orchestra for its 55th Celebration concert on Saturday\, Oct. 1\, 2022\, at 8 pm at the Mahaffey Theater\, conducted by TFO Music Director Michael Francis\, the orchestra announced today. The benefit concert launches the 2022-23 season and supports TFO’s music and education programs. \nUndeniably the reigning virtuoso of the violin\, Perlman enjoys superstar status rarely afforded a classical musician. He will join the orchestra for its 55th season opener to perform some of his favorite movie music\, including the Theme from Schindler’s List – which he performed in the Academy Award-winning film – along with As Time Goes By from Casablanca\, the love theme from Cinema Paradiso and more. \nBeloved for his charm and humanity as well as his talent\, Perlman has received 16 Grammy Awards\, four Emmy Awards\, a Kennedy Center Honor\, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a Genesis Prize. Perlman has received multiple distinctions from U.S. presidents\, including a Presidential Medal of Freedom\, the nation’s highest civilian honor\, in 2015. DESCRIPTION:SACRED LANDS is a beautiful waterfront botanical garden\, a 501c3 organization and has rich native American history.  Our fall music and a meal series continues this month on Friday\, October 21\, 2022; so mark your calendars.  The concert will be held OUTSIDE on the Dolphin Stage with the Best of the Bay 2021 contest winner “UNDERCOVER RASTA” band. (Undercover Rasta composes and performs a rich mixture of soul\, funk\, pop\, rock that is mostly rooted in reggae and of course\, dancing is encouraged.)  Please listen to their music on their website:  https://www.undercoverrasta.com/music.  The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. with a $15.00 admission.  Therefore\, reservations and prepayment are suggested. You can prepay in two ways: \n1) Visit the Sacred Lands new website at www.sacredlandspreservation.org and click on the DONATE button on the home page to make your payment.  After payment your name will be added to a “Reservation” list for check in at the gate OR you can mail a check to Sacred Lands\, 1620 Park St. N.\, St. Petersburg\, FL 33710. We recommend that our guests follow COVID safety procedures such as safe distancing and wearing masks except while eating at your table. \nAn optional homemade dinner will be available with a main entree\, green salad\, fruit\, and brownies for $10.00. You can bring chairs but some chairs and tables will be provided. \nBIO INFO: \nUndercover Rasta was formed in 2016 by Paul Young and is based out of Palm Harbor\, Florida.  Our band won second place in the Best of the Bay 2021 contest due to our great fan support.   The band consists of Paul Young – lead vocals\, songwriter and guitar; Brett “Viking” Sharbaugh – bass; Howard Ingram – lead guitar\, sax\, ukele\, backing vocals; Luca Caracciolo – drums; Doug “Doc” Hasell – harmonica. \nThe band is made up of primarily “islanders”. Paul is from Jamaica. Brett is from the US Virgin Islands. Howard is from California. Doc is from Michigan (but recognizes Jamaica as his other home) and Luca is from Italy.. \nUndercover Rasta composes and performs a rich mixture of soul\, funk\, pop\, rock that is mostly rooted in reggae.
