SUMMARY:43rd Annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show
DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Boat Shows division of Informa Markets\, the leading exhibitions organizer that owns and operates the world’s leading international boat and yacht events\, announced today that the 43rd annual St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show will now take place from Jan. 14-17\, 2021. Informa added that the four-day show\, which is the largest and longest running boat show on the West Coast\, will now be held in January permanently. The boat show previously took place in early December with the 43rd annual show originally scheduled for Dec 3-6. \n“The decision to move the show dates to January is something we have been exploring with our loyal exhibitors over the years due to the busy holiday season and competing seasonal events in the area\,” said Chris Fleming\, Show Director and Director of Business Development for Informa Markets. “We have worked closely with the City of St. Petersburg to accommodate the new dates and are extremely pleased to make it official. We are confident that holding the show in January will create a better experience for visitors\, exhibitors\, and provide a greater benefit to the local community.” \nFor more than 40 years\, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show has sailed into the city’s downtown waterfront entertainment area\, drawing thousands of boating enthusiasts and sailing lovers. With more than 400 power and sailboats\, both on land and in-water\, and nearly 250 exhibitors showcasing an impressive lineup of new boats and a wide selection of marine gear and accessories\, and over 60 best in class (and typically standing room only) cruising and sailing seminars and educational workshops\, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show has become a testament to the Gulf Coast community’s thirst for boating and sailing. The boat show’s complimentary one-hour sailboat rides provided by Sailing Florida Charters and Kid’s Fishing Clinics\, presented by Hook The Future\, have also become signature highlights and popular among attendees. \nLocated between the Duke Energy Center for the Arts\, The Dalí Museum and the Mahaffy Theater\, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show’s central waterfront location provides a breathtaking setting and an ideal spot for locals and visitors to explore many of downtown St. Petersburg’s main attractions. \nInforma Markets\, which also produces the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show\, the largest in-water boat show in the world being held this October\, recently introduced its newly enhanced health and safety standards\, AllSecure. The AllSecure standards have been adopted industry-wide and raise the bar on safe\, hygienic\, productive\, and high-quality organized event experiences. As such\, all Informa events\, including the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show\, will be organized in accordance with the new AllSecure standards\, as well as all official government and local authority guidance and regulations. \nFor more information about the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show\, visit the website: www.stpeteboatshow.com. For images\, videos\, and press materials\, contact informamedia@krepspr.com or visit the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show 2019 Digital Press Kit. \nAbout the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show \nThe 43rd Annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show is the largest boat show on the Gulf Coast. The show takes place Thursday\, Jan. 14 through Sunday\, Jan. 17\, 2020 at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts\, Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park (next to the Dali Museum) in St. Petersburg\, Florida. SUMMARY:The Dalí Museum’s 10th Building Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:The original Dalí Museum opened in St. Petersburg in 1982 after community leaders rallied to bring the Morses’ superlative collection of Salvador Dalí works to the area. On January 11\, 2011\, The Dalí’s stunning new building opened. Designed by architect Yann Weymouth of HOK\, the structure combines the rational with the fantastical: a simple rectangle with 18-inch thick hurricane-proof walls out of which erupts a large free-form geodesic glass bubble known as “The Enigma.” \nIn creating the building and gardens\, we hoped to make a place of learning and enjoyment — a place that would amplify the meaning of Dalí’s work while making it accessible. Lastly\, we hoped to inspire and give room for the imagination to wander. In short\, we set out to make a physical metaphor in concrete\, glass and living plants for Dalí’s art. \nTo celebrate the building’s decade-long existence\, the Museum will be hosting a variety of onsite and online programming on January 11\, 2021\, including: \n\nVolunteers positioned throughout the Museum to share information and answer questions on the building’s architecture and garden\nDisplay cases highlighting the building’s construction and the last decade of exhibitions\nFuture-focused lectures\nReadings from the Museum’s Wish Tree\nJoin the conversation on Facebook\, Instagram and Twitter. Share your anniversary wishes and stories — be sure to tag #TheDali.\n\nGeneral admission tickets to the Museum are required to experience all onsite happenings. Tickets can be purchased here. \nTake virtual tour of The Dalí Museum building here and read more about the Museum’s history & mission here.

SUMMARY:St. Pete Beach Santa Drive-by Parade
DESCRIPTION:December 19th will be a special day here in St. Pete Beach.  Santa and his crew will be driving through our beach town beginning at 10am.  Santa’s team will be sharing the route with us soon so we can all plan to create signs\, decorate and celebrate in a safe way this year. \nParents and Guardians\, here is a message especially for you! \nTo experience some extra special personalized magic from Santa Claus during the parade we invite you to make a fun custom sign for Santa on one side of the sign. On the other side write your kid/kids names large as possible in a big black marker. When Santa Claus is passing by your house and the kids are waving to him. You the parents will flip the sign around. It is important to make sure the kids can not see this happening. ( this is when you parents become Magicians and help with the magic) Santa will then personally say Merry Christmas to your kids with their names. Your kids will be so happy and shocked that Santa Claus knows their name/names personally. We look forward to creating this very nice and special experience for your kids during this holiday season.

SUMMARY:35th Annual BCYC Lighted Holiday Boat Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Boca Ciega Yacht Club (BCYC)\, a not for profit\norganization\, is announcing the 35th year of its Lighted Christmas Boat\nParade which will be held on Saturday\, December 12\, 2020 beginning at 6:30\npm. BCYC conducts the boat parade to generate donations and other support\nfor the Gulfport Police Department’s Operation Santa charity which\nprovides gifts to children whose Christmas’s would otherwise be less\njoyous without the generous support of the Gulfport community. This year\nwill mark BCYC’s 20th year of proudly supporting this wonderful program. \nThe Annual Lighted Christmas Boat Parade is an all-volunteer event\norganized by the members of BCYC and is an event happily shared with the\nresidents of Gulfport\, South Pasadena\, and St. Petersburg. Members spend\nmany hours planning and then decorating their boats for maximum enjoyment.\nThis year has been a very hard year for everyone and BCYC is happy to\n“flip it” so instead of soliciting donations from local businesses to be\nprizes for the boat captains\, BCYC will instead purchase gift certificates\nfrom the local businesses as the prizes. We want to support our local\ncommunity in a year that has been difficult and as many of our long-time\nsupporters are struggling. \nThe parade will begin by entering the Gulfport Municipal Marina at\napproximately 6:30 pm. It will then travel past the William’s Pier &\nCasino in Gulfport past the beaches and into the canals of Town Shores\nCondominiums and Pasadena Yacht Club Estates before returning to BCYC.\nThis year\, due to social-distancing and other safety protocols\, BCYC has\ncanceled the post-parade party. \nThere is an entry fee for each boat of two unwrapped toys or a monetary\ndonation (checks must be made out to “Operation Santa”). Each year toys\nare collected for “Operation Santa\,” and presented to Gulfport’s Police\nDepartment for distribution to needy children. Both sail and power boats\nare welcome to join in the fun and this event is open to both members and\nnon-members. \nRegistration is available online at\nhttp://www.sailbcyc.org/ChristmasBoatParade.
