SUMMARY:St. Pete Beach Classic
DESCRIPTION:The 18th Annual St. Pete Beach Classic will be January 13 – 16\, 2023. This year will have several events and multiple races for all ages. There will be a Health and Fitness Expo at the St Pete Beach Rec Center on Friday Jan 13th.   The rest of the weekend is all hosted at The Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center Jan 14-16.  There is a kids race for children\, a beach fun run Saturday evening\, a timed 5K and 10K on Saturday and Half Marathon Sunday – there is also the B2B2B challenge. \n\n\n\nChildren 8 and under\, and seniors 80+ are FREE. There will be bonfires\, parties\, beer\, drinks and food for all participating athletes to enjoy the #1 Beach in America. \n\n\n\nThe St. Pete Beach Classic is a non-profit race and supports other local non-profit organizations in the good they do for our community. Some of the groups we support include Sea Turtle Trackers\, Friends of the Library on St. Pete Beach\, The St. Pete Beach Recreation Center\, The Historical Museum on Pass-A-Grille Beach among others. \n\n\n\nThe St. Pete Beach Classic 2023 will include a volleyball exhibition all weekend put on by the Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association and a beach clean-up on Monday. SUMMARY:Treasure Island Kite Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 26th Annual Treasure Island Sport Kite Competition and Festival returns to Treasure Island in 2023 for your enjoyment! Taking place on Treasure Island Beach on Jan. 14 and 15 behind the host hotel\, the Thunderbird Beach Resort\, and is sponsored by Windworks. \n\n\n\nSpectators come to be amazed by the talented kite flyers performing to music at this two-day event. This event includes kite flying of all types\, ground displays\, bubbles and tons of fun for all ages. Quad Line and Dual Line lessons will be available on the beach allowing passersby a chance to learn how to fly stunt kites for free. After the sun goes down there is potential for a night fly in the same fabulous location! (weather/wind permitting of course). \n\n\n\nWindworks\, from John’s Pass in Madeira Beach will be on the beach for all your kiting needs including kid’s kites\, stunt kites and accessories! Windworks also holds a silent auction and hourly raffles in the kite tent all weekend. Stop by and purchase a ticket for your chance to win. \n\n\n\nRemember\, Monday is a holiday\, so we urge you to plan on staying an extra day for recreational flying. January weather in Florida is usually ideal for kites\, with mild temperatures and steady winds.
