SUMMARY:13th St. Petersburg Jazz Festival
DESCRIPTION:The nonprofit EMIT is presenting the 13th St. Petersburg Jazz Festival February 23-27. We had to take a hiatus last year due to the pandemic. \nThe annual jazz festival is produced by the nonprofit EMIT in partnership this year with the Palladium Theater. EMIT has presented adventurous music and educational activities in St. Petersburg since 1995. \nThe lineup is: \n2/23 – O Som Do Jazz with Andrea Moraes Manson and special guests Rafael Pereira & Jose Valentino Ruiz. This Brazilian jazz group plays a diverse range of music including samba\, Bossa Nova\, MPB and Baião. Rafael tours with Janelle Monae and others. \n2/24 – Best of Blue Note with the James Suggs/Austin Vickrey Sextet \nThis group revisits great grooving Bebop standards from the Blue Note record label from Horace Silver\, Wayne Shorter\, Lee Morgan and others. \n2/25 – RADIOjazzHEAD a unique project directed by Pete Carney “jazzifying” the music of Radiohead and other 90s superbands with a 12-piece ensemble. \n2/26 – Singer Emma Hedrick and the Helios Jazz OrchestraRising jazz star Emma Hedrick joins the 18-piece jazz orchestra in a concert of big band favorites. \n2/27 – Chris Dingman TrioMystic music from New York vibraphonist/composer Chris Dingman with stellar Miami bassist Carlo DeRosa and L.A. drummer Rodolfo Zuniga. \nThese concerts will be held in the large Hough Hall at the Palladium Theater and will be socially distanced. Admission is $25 available from www.mypalladium.org

This paw-some event has helped hound-reds of homeless animals find their ulti-mutt fur-ever homes for 18 years.\nThe Animal Rescue Festival & Fun-raiser hosts up to 50 animal rescue groups\, pet friendly vendors featuring animal related products\, crafts\, artwork and other curious treats. Additional activities include pet care education\, a pet food and supplies drive\, animal training demos\, the Florida Weiner Dog Derby\, the annual Bark-B-Que auction\, local shops\, restaurants and more.\nPurr-haps there is a paw-sibility you could help us by hosting a fun-raiser\, donating pet supplies\, volunteering\, and/or sharing this news with all of your fur-ends? We thank you in advance for being re-barkable! With your help\, there is no mew-nimum to what we can accomplish in these trying times right meow.\nBring the whole pack! We look fur-ward to seeing you in Downtown Gulfport to participate in one of our area’s most beloved traditions.
