Thursday, Jan 19, 6pm Evenings with the Maestro: Bad Girls and the Boys that Can’t Resist Them Following last year’s program on Bad Boys, this year we turn the tables and look at the bad girls. From Carmen to Delilah, men are putty in these seductress’s hands. Mezzo soprano Amy Hartsough, SPO’s current Opera Idol, will be joined by other delightfully “bad” girls with irresistible voices: Melissa Misener, and Sarah Coit, also mezzos, and soprano Phoenix Gayles. Representing the pliable males will be St. Petersburg’s favorite baritone, Todd Donovan. Evenings with the Maestro is presented at the Music Gallery, 5990 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater, at 6:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. The programs address a different theme to enhance your understanding of opera and of music in general and last approximately 90 minutes. Afterwards, the audience is invited to join the Maestro and the cast for conversation and refreshments at a local restaurant. Details will be announced at the performance. Tickets are $17 ($12 seniors and students) and are available in advance on the St. Petersburg opera website, www.stpeteopera.org or by calling the office at 727-823-2040. Tickets are very limited.
Sunday, Feb 5, 3pm SPO chamber ensemble SPO returns to the Ybor International Artist Series, Hillsborough Community College, at 3:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, Mainstage Theater (corner of E. Palm Ave. and N. 14th St., Tampa.) Tickets are $15, $5 for seniors and students, free to HCC students and staff.

Featuring Jon Morrell as Samson, Holly Sorenson as Dalila, and Anthony Zoeller as the High Priest. Tuesday, Feb 21, 6pm Evenings with the Maestro: St. Mary Our Lady of Grace St. Petersburg Opera performs as part of the Winter Concert Series at St. Mary’s, 515 4th St. S, in downtown St. Petersburg. Donations for admission accepted. Reprise of the February 16 presentation.
